This is the second installment in a small series about my daughter's school experience. If you have followed my Facebook page for a while, you will recognize this from a few weeks back. Feel free to scroll on by. But since I have some new folks, I thought we'd start a small and continuing series about how this school year is rolling along. A red poison dart frog from Manzanillo wildlife preserve.
October 4:
So today my daughter saw a red poison dart frog and they had a small Brazilian wandering spider in between the flap folds of the trampoline....the woman who owns the house swept it away.
Today's lunch was Caribbean style rice, beans and sauce with a salad and a chocolate muffin for dessert. The kiddos were super excited about those muffins while she was baking them.
The teacher is having her read a chapter book to the class. Today is reading day. The day started with silent reading, followed by circle, where they all played a prank on a couple of kiddos who were late. The teacher is reading a different book to the class. Then they did a detailed character analysis of the protagonists' strengths and flaws. As an independent study, they had to draw their renditions of the protagonist and then pick a strength and a flaw that they related to and write about them.
The final activity today was foraging for leaves and flowers that spoke to them and then creating a self-portrait. They were beautiful and so unique.
We are off to acrobatic silks. But she was hungry so we stopped for a sushi roll on the way
